A few weeks ago I had the privilege of participating in LAUNCH Education & Kids, a two-day conference at the Microsoft Silicon Valley Conference Center that focused on kid-centric startups and innovation. It was a great opportunity to bring together the people who are spearheading today’s technological movement in education. Not only did it give Nearpod high-level exposure, but I also had the pleasure of meeting and exchanging ideas with quite a few interesting people from the industry. After my interview with Jason Calacanis and his team, we were fortunate enough to be selected as one of 30 companies, out of more than 300 they had on their list, to take part in the event. Then the real work began of making our case before a panel of LAUNCH judges as to why Nearpod is the most innovative app in education. How I was going to present my case was easy: I used Nearpod! Even though I rehearsed the presentation extensively, the fact that I was one of the very few who would be using the product to make his case was very reassuring. Once on stage, I introduced Nearpod and launched the panel of judges into a Nearpod presentation. With each swipe of the Nearpod Teacher app, the judges were noticeably impressed. It wasn’t long before questions about pricing arose: a most fitting time to share with everyone that Nearpod is free for everyone to try. The feedback from the judges was very encouraging and from the audience overwhelmingly positive. I was overcome with pride when Nearpod was chosen as Audience Favorite! Nearpod is a powerful, all-in-one solution for the classroom that has changed the way teachers teach and students learn. We will continue to work diligently to develop new and enhanced features that will make Nearpod even more powerful.
